Had an inshore charter today with 4 anglers from Texas. The sheepshead are still around in good numbers with the average size sheepshead being 18-19 inches. We caught plenty of sheepshead today along with some juvenile grouper and this nice Bull Redfish measuring 40 inches long!

Fun Fished for a couple of hours with a friend to do a little scouting. The bite was not on fire, but we did manage a few nice sheepshead. The bay water still looks like mud, but there were signs of bait fish on the surface. It won't be long and the bite will be on!

I ran an inshore trip today with Matt and Richard. These guys brought their "A" game and wore out the grouper and Redfish. The morning started windy as all get out. Just as predicted the 20-25 knot winds made me earn my money today. We tried a couple spots in the bay early this morning and caught one ladyfish. After getting beat up for a little while I asked them how they felt about grouper fishing. 2 hours later we had caught over 20 grouper ranging in size from 18'-21.5". Lost a couple bigger ones and did not get to bring any home, but they sure had a good time catching grouper in the bay on a WINDY day.
Left the grouper spot and decided we would try a few redfish holes on the way back home. First spot, first cast, FISH ON! Matt hooks up a nice slot red measuring 25". As I am unhooking Matt's fish I hear Richards drag screaming and we have two slot reds in two cast. We stayed a little while longer catching and releasing 7-8 more slot reds on light tackle and called it a day. The redfish were definately fired up and we probably could have made a day out of catching redfish if we wanted to earlier in the day.
Didn't take any pictures of the grouper, as I didn't think about the camera until we got on the redfish. Take it for what its worth ![]()
Took the Sullivan Family from New York sheepshead fishing today. These guys were anglers! 15 year old Zach won the award for catching the most fish today. Everytime I looked over this kid was bowed up on a big sheepshead! His father and grandfather caught their fair share as well. The pass yielded a bunch of nice big sheepshead, a nice black drum and several short groupers which were a blast on light takle.
Ran an inshore trip today with three anglers. The sheepshead were on fire in the pass despite the 25-30 knot winds we had to fight. Ended the day with enough sheepshead for a fish fry for the group with a nice black drum to throw in for good measure!
